Three-master Barkentine
Authorised Service Center
This three-master Barkentine with Ostend as homeport was drawn by the polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache and build and launched in 1932 in Scotland.

Since 1961 it serves as a floating museum. Before that time it was used by the Belgian Navy for the instruction of military sailors. The Mercator took part in several expeditions, mostly with a scientific background.
